The South American capybara is the largest rodent in the world. It is closely related to the guinea pig. Capybaras are very social animals and can live in groups of up to 100 individuals. Mothers usually have four babies to a litter and all the adults in the group will care for the babies. The capybara is a gentle creature without much fear of people and they are kept as pets in some places.

litter n. a group of animals that are born at the same time and have the same mother. 一窝（幼崽）

南美水豚是世界上最大的啮齿动物，与豚鼠近亲。水豚是群居动物，一个族群最多可达近百只。母水豚通常一窝生产四只宝宝，由族群的所有成年水豚照顾。水豚性情温和不怕人，在一些地方被当做宠物。
