显示未读条数的设置（Leftonread）

在数字时代，我们中的许多人都期待快速的回应，得不到回应就会产生焦虑。你可能会发送一条信息，你的手机或电脑显示它已被阅读，但......没有回应。一直处于已读不回的状态，你会感觉被冷落或忽视。当然，你发信息的人可能只是在忙。

left on read这个表达最早可以追溯到2016年，当时它被收入了城市词典（Urban Dictionary）。

Left on read的定义：

• In internet slang, a person is left on read when a recipient has read, but not responded to, a sender's message. The expression is often used to express feeling ignored.
• 网络俚语，当收件人阅读了发送者的信息，但没有回复时。这句话通常是用来表达被忽视的感觉。
• When someone has been “left on read,” it means that they sent a message to someone who received it but didn’t respond to it.
• 当某人has been left on read，这意味着他们向某人发送了一条信息，而后者收到了信息却没有回应。
• Being left on read is generally considered to be a bad thing, with the implication that the person you are trying to contact is intentionally ignoring you or ducking you.
• left on read通常被认为是一件坏事，这意味着你想联系的人故意忽略你或躲避你。
• “Left on seen” is a synonym for “left on read,” indicating that although a message has been seen, there has been no response.
• “Left on seen”是“Left on read”的同义词，表示虽然信息已被看到，但没有回应。

I was eating a really nice banana, and then I just forgot… sorry.

That’s a terrible excuse. 幸好我们是朋友，不然我还以为你不理了我呢。Anyway, let’s listen to these examples…

Examples

I can’t believe I was left on read. I sent him a message and I can see he’s looked at it, but he hasn’t replied!

My partner always leaves me on read. They get really distracted and then don’t message me back.

You shouldn’t assume the worst if you get left on read. If someone reads your message and doesn’t reply, they might be really busy and planning to respond later.
